About

Do you want to interact directly with clients and volunteer virtually?

You can provide follow-up casework to those impacted by disasters by volunteering on the recovery casework team. All training is provided at no cost. Time commitment is flexible with a scheduled commitment.

The reasons why volunteers join the American Red Cross are various, yet the one thing they all share is the reward of having helped someone, of making a positive impact on someone’s life.

  • Conduct follow-up for clients within 72 hours of the case being opened by the Disaster Action Team (DAT).
  • May conduct Intake and provide financial assistance to qualified clients.
  • Conduct follow-up and recovery planning services.
  • Provide internal referrals and external referrals.
  • Assist with problem-solving and advocacy upon request

What's Required:

  • Able to treat clients with care, comfort, and concern.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in stressful situations and a team-oriented setting.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning about community resource organizations.
  • Treats people equitably and works effectively with diverse populations
  • Comfortable with technology

This is a weekly volunteer opportunity based on your availability and how many cases you would like to manage. Bilingual (English/Spanish) encouraged to apply.
