About

Organizational Information
White Spring Ranch is listed on the National Historical Registry and was the homestead of early Idaho settlers in the wheat-producing Palouse area south of Moscow, Idaho. John Lorang and Mary Gesellchen Lorang created a successful farm. They, and three generations of the family, were historians, writers, and photographers and preserved all of their histories from its founding in 1885 to the present day.

Opportunity Description

Have you ever seen a 150 year old cabin? Or would you like to experience the past on a ranch? Students will have the chance to archive and record its collection of letters, journals, photographs, newspapers, and books and help with maintenance and prep for future events plus a tour of the property.

Some stories featuring daily life, romance (example, a lover who became a nun), time in the war, and so many more exciting stories!
