Economic and Environmental Justice IS Racial Justice
Meaningful change is made through practice
When we listen to one another we get the chance to understand one another and practice the beauty of practicing our democracy
Everyone experiences the world differently so it important to reach out and make friends from those we would often not think they could be our friend
An elite white few might only be able to experience a world without environmental harm due to their privilege
Science can be viewed as an elitist activity that takes away from their beliefs and doesn't care about them. Start getting on their level and ask them “what have you noticed to have changed in your community”. Start there and move forward
Climate change talk needs to happen on a lot of different levels with all of the concerns being brought up and helped
Equity and consequences → rarely see an equitable consequence

YMCA of the Palouse KEYS to Success
During this event the following tasks were completed for the span of the night:
- filling pitchers at 22 tables
- collecting and returning coats
- welcoming guests into the event
- taking note of auction winners and amounts of money donated
- serving guests their auctioned desserts
- presenting silent auction gift baskets to winners
- cleaning up tables afterwards
This event was one that showed how to get involved in the community for a great cause. The YMCA has been always played an influential role in my life ever since I was a little girl and to give back to it in the way that I did not only made me feel grateful to be a part of it but humbled as well. I would highly recommend volunteering for this event to others as it provided me with a deeper appreciation for those in my community who are working to better the environment in which we are shaping for everyone to be inclusive, appreciated, and heard.
