Alpha Gamma Rho Fundraiser for United Way of Whitman County *Reserved*

It was a great time working as a group to raise money for United Way and a great cause! Setting up and taking down a stand up in front of the CUB while selling raffle tickets was such a great idea, it rewarded the students that were actively going to class and helped to increase donations!

    Klemgard County Park Plant Maintenance

Getting help conservation in our local area is always a really helpful and fun way to give back. While at the park we chipped underbrush and trees that were considered fire hazard areas and used the chippings to mulch freshly planted trees.

Public Square: Bridging the Gender Gap

I felt that this public square meeting was a good topic to cover in a more comfortable atmosphere with multiple speakers with different backgrounds. It made it easier to connect to and really allowed us listeners to open up and really digest the big ideas surrounding this topic.

    Orphan Acres

On this trip to orphan acres I continued to roof the stable we were working on before. I laid the rest of the tar paper out and stapled it in, then laid out the tin above that and screwed it down to the roof to stay. After the roof was done I worked on the side of the stable build a wall to act as a windbreak. Then I helped move feed pellets around to the various barns and stables to help stack them up in buckets so that they had enough feed in the spots for the next couple weeks.

    Orphan Acres

I spent a lot of my day at Orphan Acres working on roofing one of his new stables for his horses so that we could beat the weather and get the roof covered before winter hits fully. On this trip we mainly laid down tar paper and help with laying out posts for the eventual extention of one of his other barns.
