The application process follows the general timeline below: 1. Applicant submits Cover Letter and Resume detailing position, interests and skills to mail@phoenixconservancy.org by October 1st, 2021. Positions are open until filled, so earlier submission is highly encouraged
2. TPC personnel will determine if the applicant will be invited to interview, and follow up to inform the applicant of the decision and to set a day and time for the interview, if applicable.
3. Following the virtual interview with relevant TPC staff, successful applicants for field positions will be invited to a supervised working interview (approximately 1 hour in duration). Successful applicants for virtual/online only positions will be asked to complete a standardized assignment with guiding instructions and protocols.
4. TPC staff will evaluate the results of the supervised work. Applicants demonstrating a high quality of supervised work will be invited to the final interview phase, in which a position-specific task will be assigned with minimal instruction or supervision. An example of this might be an assignment to collect the seeds of a given species from a designated location, remove invasive species from a site, or to generate content for a particular social media outlet.
5. Applicants will be evaluated on the quality and time management demonstrated in the completion of the independent assignments by Phoenix staff. From the collective evaluation of the three interview phases, positions will be offered to applicants which provide the best fit within the organization. Applicants completing internships with higher levels of autonomy and responsibility may be invited to move into higher levels within the organization based on their performance.
6. Depending on experience, qualifications, and performance, an internship stipend of $500$1,000 may be offered to strong applicants.
